Description

The Swing Check Valve is the most popular of all check valves, offering very little resistance to the flow when it is wide open. The closing element (disc) swings open and shut like a trap door about a hinge outside the seat. A replaceable composition washer may be fitted on the disc and takes most of the wear. A loose pin hinge ensures the disc closes when the flow diminishes to zero.

Swing check valves should be mounted in the horizontal position, but may also be mounted in the vertical position, provided the disc is prevented from reaching the stalling position. Swing check valves are companions to gate valves and are commonly used on all lines where fluid-friction loss is of prime importance. They are recommended for applications where the reversal of flow is not so frequent, to prevent “valve chattering”. Dirt and viscous fluids cannot easily hinder the rotation of the disc around the hinge.

The Swing Check valves are used to prevent backflow protecting system equipment. Swing check valves are used to prevent flow reversal in piping systems. They are suitable for service in horizontal or vertical flow upward installation. Swing check valves have low pressure drop and are best suited for moderate velocity applications.

Features:

(1)The basic swing Check valve consists of a valve body, a cover, and a disk that is linked to a hinge. The above disk swings, moving away from the valve-seat. This movement allows the flow to move in the forward direction, and it moves back to valve-seat when upstream flow is stopped, to prevent backflow.

(2)The disc in a swing type Check valve has no guidesd as it fully opens or closes. There are many disk and seat designs available, in order to meet the requirements of different applications.

(3)The siwng check valve allows full, unobstructed flow and automatically closes as pressure decreases. These valves are fully closed when flow reaches zero, in order to prevent backflow.

(4)Turbulence and pressure drop in the valve are very low.

(5)Small in size, light in weight, compact in structure,easy in maintenance.

(6)Two torsion springs are used excreting on each of the pair valve plates,which close the plates quickly and automatically.

(7)The quick-close action prevents the medium from flowing back and eliminates water hammer effect.

(8) Short body structure length and good rigidity.

(9)This valve is tightly sealed, without leakage under the pressure water test.

(10) Safe and reliable in operation,high interference-resistance.
